The Astro Orbiter is a rocket-spinner attraction at Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. It opened in 1974 as the StarJets, an attraction similar to the Rocket Jets at Disneyland. In 1994, when the New Tomorrowland opened, it was overhauled and renamed. The attraction is known as a "spinner," in which vehicles are lifted into the air by large arms coming out of a spinning central core. It is located at the top of Rockettower Plaza, where Tomorrowland Transit Authority's station and the Lunching Pad are located as well. This ride is like the Dumbo the Flying Elephant at Fantasyland. You rise several feet in the air in an open rocket ship. Enjoy!!! Here's another shot of Cinderella's Castle at Disney's Magic Kingdom. This is truly one magical place and structure. The amount of detail and the care taken to light the castle makes it the most recognizable landmark on Disney. The CastleI've been fortunate enough to have visited Walt Disney World in about five different occasions. Once you have experience in Disney, you know there are some events that are a must to watch. Those shows that if you miss them you feel that you didn't visit the park. One of those is the fireworks spectacular at Cinderella's Castle. The display is so well planned by Disney Imagineers, that it doesn't matter how many times you've seen it---you want to see it one more time. You can see why below. Enjoy and let the magic begin! Sometimes I wish I was here!Explore is Flickr's way of showcasing the most interesting photos within a given point in time -- usually over a 24 hour period. Flickr receives about 6,000 uploads every minute -- That's about 8.6 million photos a day! From this huge group of images, the Flickr Interestingness algorithm chooses only 500 images to showcase for each 24-hour period. That's only one image in every 17,000! Featured in Flickr's ExploreEverybody likes Disney and so do I. I love to take the whole family and just be a kid again and have a great time. For this shot, I had to work really fast. It was taken right after the Electric Parade and just before the fireworks--IT WAS CROWDED!!!! I grabbed all my gear looking for that perfect location over one of the little bridges around Cinderella's Castle. Once there, I had to politely ask for some room to set everything up and shoot fast because I needed to go back to the front of the castle to watch and photograph the fireworks! As you can see, all the hard work and effort was totally worth it! Where the Princess sleeps |
